I’m the big booty behind Lush Boudoir. Lush Boudoir began in my wee curious days of college. My photography course assigned us a free range project to choose a subject we wanted to capture. I was craving to do something entirely different than what I always saw in that classroom. Things other than street journalism, landscapes, still lives, the basics.

I came across images of boudoir work when studying for photography subjects and could hardly find any examples on Pinterest or google. I was intrigued. I wanted in.  I wanted a voice in this boudoir world.  I was already someone who believed you should love yourself for who you damn well are, and with boudoir, I felt like I could begin an empowerment movement for women who are so worth it.
One of my best friends, the very same person who turned into my first ever paying boudoir clients back in 2014 and has come to me again for boudoir since, graciously modeled for me in my roommate’s bedroom. We had a blast. My professor enjoyed the view of course, a 75 year old war veteran, gave me an A on those assignments.

I began to photograph boudoir professionally while I was beginning my work in wedding photography. My brides would be intrigued in knowing how to capture intimate portraits of themselves to gift to their grooms so a few brave ladies allowed me to capture them in the comfort of their own home.

After photographing a handful of women in a bunch of different locations, I began to search for a studio space. A space I could create as a neutral pretty posh setting that could be the foundation of a revolution.

An external space that allows you to come in, forget about that pile of laundry, the baby toys on the floor, the dog slobber on the window or the dust collecting on the floor boards. This space has allowed us to give Lush Boudoir a face and a home.

When I am outside of the studio..

You can find me photographing amazing humans in my portraiture work over at Cassidy MR. Photography. I primarily photograph portraits which include seniors, couples, engagements as well as weddings.

If I am not actively shooting, I will most likely be on my computer, editing my website or creating content for my clients while listening to Hay House Radio.

When I am not behind my camera..

You can find me shifting through the aisles of Home Goods, imagining how I can refresh my spaces. Switching out pillows, greenery and wall art.

In my downtime, I may be binge watching a Netflix series, snuggling with my sassy girl, exfoliating my face and taking a long hot bath.

No one can make you feel inferior

Skin Care

ways i pour love onto myself is through my skin

I have always been obsessed with skin. For me, I notice the skin before I notice the eyes. Beautiful, bouncy skin is what makes me feel beautiful. I have struggled for many years with less than perfect skin that allowing myself to care for my skin helps me get closer to my skin goal. By pouring love back in, I am still loving on the skin condition I am currently in, thus, always loving on myself.

Florals

dahlias, garden roses, greenery, all the things

I am a grannie at heart. I love all things floral, floral printed and especially those things that are floral scented. Rose scented soaps are my jam!

Energy Work

NOTHING BEATS being balanced

We are all made of energy. I choose to radiate bright light. The pure feeling of balanced bliss, is easily one of my favorite moments. I keep myself balanced by speaking my truth, meditating, yoga and reiki. Fun fact: I’m Reiki 1 Certified!

Hot Baths

baking soda and epsom salt

In addition to skin care, I absolutely adore a hot epsom salt and baking soda bath. I feel so refreshed and detoxed after soaking in the tub with a face mask on. To enhance the experience, I really love to use a body scrub to exfoliate or dashing in fresh rose petals to float on the surface. Talk about boujee.

The studio. The outlet. The safe place. The uplifting atmosphere.

I have created a space that is a spice of sexy, a dash of playful and a whole lot of FREEDOM!

I am empowered after every boudoir session by seeing a woman come in, a bit unnerved, to leaving and feeling like the queen she is.
